Strong Weekend for Integra by Benic PDF Print E-mail

It was a dominant Memorial Day weekend for Benic Shock Services competitors.

After setting the world speed record for a sprint car at Iowa last week, Shane Hmiel continued his hot streak as he was absolutely dominant at the prestigious Hoosier 100 silver crown event at the Indianapolis mile. Hmiel charged through the field after restarting in the 12th position on the lap 50 break to lead the final 23 laps and take his first career victory on dirt. In all, Hmiel led 69 of the 100 laps on his Integra by Benic IDA shocks. Teammate Jerry Coons, Jr. came home with a strong 3rd place, also on Integra IDA shocks.

In non-wing sprints, Brady Short continued his strong season by dominating the MSCS weekend in Indiana. Short took his 3rd victory in a row at the Lawrenceburg Speedway on his AFCO by Benic M2 gas pressure shocks, before setting his sites on the winners’ circle at Tri-State Speedway. Short won his heat race from the last starting position and went on to sweep the night by leading 27 of the 30 laps in the a-main.

On Sunday, Brad Kuhn brought home another victory on Integra shocks to finish off the weekend in strong fashion. Kuhn took the lead on lap 2 and never looked back to take the midget portion of the POWRi Race for Life at Belleville, IL on Sunday.

Other winners on Memorial Day weekend included Logan Jarrett in Peru, IN & Ray Seemann in the URSS race at Jetmore, KS.

Hmiel sets World Speed Record! PDF Print E-mail

Benic Shock Services competitors enjoyed another fast weekend May 21st-23rd. For Shane Hmiel, it was the fastest ever in a sprint car! Hmiel set the world speed record for a sprint car by qualifying at a speed of 146.444 mph for the USAC event at Iowa Speedway.

Integra by Benic shocks were primed for a 1-2 finish in the Iowa sprint car event with Hmiel and Bryan Clauson. Hmiel proceeded to lead 33 laps of the main event before losing the power plant in the closing laps. Clauson went on to win the event in the RWB #2B Beast.

In the silver crown portion of the Iowa event, strong runs were had by Benic Shock Services customers as Hmiel and Russ Gamester qualified 3rd & 5th respectively. Hmiel went on to lead 12 laps before finishing a strong 4th. Jerry Coons, Jr. also had a strong run with a 5th place finish. Gamester had a solid top ten run going before a hard crash took him out of the event.

Back in Indiana, Brady Short grabbed his fifth victory of the season by winning the King of Indiana Sprint Series event at the high banks of Lawrenceburg Speedway. Bob Bourff took home a win and a 2nd place finish in the same night in the winged mini-sprints at Peru, IN on his newly revalved AFCO by Benic shocks.

In Elma, WA, Seth Bergman won his 3rd race out of 4 events at Grays Harbor Raceway. Keith Dempster won the SOS event at Brighton Speedway in Ontario, Canada. Travis Elliott led until lap 23 of 25 before mechanical issues relegated him to a solid 4th place finish in the ASCS Lone Star race at Texarkana, AR.

Benic Shock Services is also proud to welcome one of our many new customers. AJ Anderson came up only a few feet short from victory, finishing a very close second in his maiden voyage on Integra by Benic gas shocks at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN.
