Schatz wins 4th consecutive Knoxville Nationals on AFCO by Benic Shocks!

Benic Shock Services would like to congratulate our top competitors as they finished off another strong week at Knoxville and beyond.

At Knoxville, Donny Schatz came from his 6^th starting spot to win the $150,000 top prize at the 49^th annual Knoxville Nationals. The win was the 4^th consecutive for Schatz at sprint car racing’s richest, most prestigious and most difficult event, all of them on AFCO by Benic shocks. Schatz’s win capped off a stellar week and a half in Iowa that included an A-Scramble victory on Friday for Schatz and began with Cale Conley setting a new track record at the 360 Nationals. Wayne Johnson won the Thursday preliminary at the 360 Nationals and followed that with a 2^nd place finish in the 360 main event and a C-main win at the 410 Nationals. Bill Rose also brought home a victory in the week, winning the E-main event at the 410 Nationals.

At Oskaloosa, defending champion Dave Darland fell a half-car length short in his bid to become the 1^st 2-time winner at the Ultimate Challenge. Darland, on his Integra by Benic adjustable shocks, led the first 15 laps and made a hard charge to regain the lead on the final lap but came up just short.

Elsewhere, Brady Short, John Carney II and Dustin Daggett all came away with their 9^th victories of the season respectively. Parker Price-Miller won his 8^th of the season and Chris Andrews continued a solid campaign with his 4^th victory of ’09. At the Salem, IN USAC sprint race, Shane Hmiel led 44 of 50 laps and came away with a 2^nd place finish.
